ZARUCCI BRIDAL BOUTIQUE

Hello, hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I just recently attended the opening night of Zarucci Bridal, a project I've been working on the last couple months. This is my first completed commercial job and I am feeling so happy and excited about it.

Using a soft colour pallet, hints of blush and gold accents, marble, ornate antiques, simple design features & eye catching chandeliers, this space is feminine, classic and calm, leaving the custom, designer dresses as the true focal point.

When we first began the renovation process the room was closed off, dark and dreary. Removing walls & painting helped with this. In order to provide a more formal ambiance we did a board and battan using MDF in the main area of the boutique. This was painted in an off white from Benjamin Moore (my go to for paint colours & products) called White Dove. For all of the walls in the space I went with a pure white, Chantilly Lace. I love to do a lighter wall with a darker toned trim. This colour combination is calming and elegant, pulled from hues seen in the fabrics of the gowns.

The dress display may be the most important aspect of this space. I designed a custom case for the dresses, painted in Chantilly Lace, the same as the wall colour as to not take away from the gowns, topped with moldings & finished off with brass rods. Recessed lighting was built in to make the dresses stand out even more!

When I'm watching Say Yes to the Dress I always cry when the bride has found her gown and is standing in front of the mirror with her family & friends around, so I knew it was important that this area be stunning! We spray painted a large ornate mirror, found at a local antique store, in gold to coordinate with the brass rods, as well as the store signage. Because it is by appointment only, there will only be one bride at a time in the store, meaning we only needed one fitting room. Due to limited space we created this by hanging blush drapes around the mirror area on a track so the drapes can be closed when the bride is changing and then she can stand on a platform and the drapes will be opened, revealing her to her loved ones, who will be sitting on an antique sofa with a white damask fabric.

Because these dresses are custom, there is a consult area where the bride will meet with Zarucci Designer, Nora. For this I used two classic chairs from Joss and Main (which I am smitten with and will have in my dining room one day!) and a ghost coffee table from Homesense.

Marble is by far one of my favourite materials and I think it suits this design perfectly. It is timeless and elegant. I used Calacatta, for the backdrop behind the desk and logo, because of the warm tones throughout the veining. This is one of the first things that will be seen when entering the space and will really make a statement. Last but not least three antique white iron chandeliers were hung in the room to finish off the space!

With all the finishing touches in place it was time for the grand opening ! Congratulations to Nora on the opening of her boutique!
